Because of this piece, I have received national recognition for my work, as well as a large sum of scholarship money to help me pursue my dream. Because of this piece, I grew ambitious to finish high school strong and not only graduate alongside my friends, but graduate with honors and distinction. Because of this piece I can say that I am attending my dream school this fall. Art saved my life-It has created who I am and always will be.

Scholastic Art Awards. For more than six decades, the Scholastic Art Awards program has brought recognition to countless young artists, encouraging many to continue with their art education. Every year, select works receiving National Awards are included in a special touring exhibition showcasing a selection of works from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards—inspiring and innovative work by teens from all across the country.

For my region, the writing gets posted on a blog and the artwork is shown at the awards ceremony.

National Student Poets Program

I'm almost positive on the New York homepage for SA&W, it said that the American Visions/Voices awards have been discontinued. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards’ national office in New York City partners with organizations across the country to bring the Scholastic Awards to local communities.

Our partners are doing great work in their communities, and we love hearing about their outreach efforts, their students, and their programs.
